Ganga Das of Kumirgor village was raised as a pampered child by her parents but after the sudden death of her father, she was forced to leave school, when she was going to class VIII, due to the poor economic condition of her family. She got married to Bapan Das from a very lower-middle class family but his income was not sufficient to meet the basic needs of the family. So Ganga decided to do something on her own. She learned weaving from a local institution. But she couldn’t afford buying a weaving machine. She happened to meet a representative from VFS who promised her all types of support including small loan. She joined a JLG group and took a small loan to buy a weaving macahine. She is taking loans from VFS over the past 5 years and her current outstanding loan is Rs. 30,000/ -. Now she is able to run the family smoothly, her daughter is studying Higher Secondary and her husband is running a business of making furniture. Now Ganga Das is a happy working woman and she is grateful to VFS for everything.
