Soma Das, is an inhabitant of Palpara village of Sipahijala district, Tripura.
Her husband was the only earning Member of the family; who is a Car driver by profession but her husband’s income was too small to maintain the family consisting of wife, two children and mother. A few years ago it was too hard to run the family with the little income of her husband. She was worried about the expenses to run the family and thinking about the future of her children.
In this situation she was thinking of starting income generated activities of her own to improve the financial condition of her family and wanted to start a small business of “Bamboo made fishing trap” but due to insufficient fund she could not do it at that time. Suddenly she came to know about VFS from one of her neighbors’ and came to our Melaghar branch then joined a JLG named Lakhi; which was promoted by VFS. Initially she took a loan of Rs 10000/- to start her business. Now her business has improved. At present she is planning to take the 2nd cycle loan from VFS to purchase bulk raw materials for her business.
Thus the income of the family is growing day by day. At present they have repaired their home, her son is going to a KG School, she is planning to admit her daughter in the school and bought many durable goods for the family. She also saves money for her children’s future and for the future of the family. She is very thankful to Village for supporting her in the Bad condition. Now she is a happy and confident woman.
